Do I need any previous Taekwondo or martial arts experience?
No. Most of our students begin with no prior martial arts experience. Our beginner-friendly classes teach everything from the fundamentals, and students progress at their own pace.
What ages do you teach?
We offer programs for:
Whether you're introducing your child to martial arts or starting yourself, we have a program designed for you.
Can I try a class before joining?
Yes! We encourage all new students to experience GOAT Taekwondo before making a commitment. Contact us to book your free trial class and meet our instructors.
What should I wear to my first class?
Comfortable athletic clothing such as a T-shirt and athletic pants or shorts is perfect for your first class. A Taekwondo uniform can be purchased once you decide to join.
Is Taekwondo safe?
Safety is one of our highest priorities. Students learn proper techniques in a structured environment under qualified instruction. Protective equipment is used for sparring, and training is always appropriate for the student's age and experience.
Is Taekwondo only for athletes?
Not at all. Most of our students train for fitness, confidence, discipline, and personal development. We welcome everyone—from complete beginners to experienced martial artists.
Do you offer a competitive program?
Yes. GOAT Taekwondo offers one of Windsor-Essex County's leading high-performance training programs for students who wish to compete at local, provincial, national, and international levels.
Competitive athletes receive advanced coaching in Olympic-style sparring, strategy, and tournament preparation.
What benefits will my child gain from Taekwondo?
Students develop:
These life skills often carry over into school, sports, and everyday life.
How often should I attend classes?
Most students train two to three times per week to build skills and confidence consistently. Competitive athletes may train more frequently.
How long does it take to earn a black belt?
Every student progresses at their own pace. Belt advancement is based on skill development, attendance, effort, and successful completion of grading requirements—not simply time spent in class.
Do parents stay and watch?
Absolutely. Parents are welcome to watch classes and see their child's progress in a respectful training environment.
Do you prepare students for tournaments?
Yes. Students who are interested in competition receive specialized coaching and may participate in local, provincial, and national tournaments when they are ready.
